Measles and the MMR Vaccine

I was scrolling through my Facebook page, looking at everyone's cute pictures of their kids and their holiday plans. I then come across two posts from two different people about how Michigan now has 15 people with the measles. I'm intrigued, I love learning about diseases and the vaccines for those diseases so I click on the links. I want to share what I read so here is one of the links, both links said the exact same thing. There are 15 cases of measles in Michigan this year, and officials urge people to get their vaccinations. It goes on the describe the symptoms as " a high fever, red eyes, runny nose, sensitivity to light, and eventually rashes on the face and head that progresses to other parts of the body." That is it. No explanation of who these people are. If they are vaccinated or not. Nothing. Very vague information and seem to be trying to scare people into getting their shots, at least that's what it seemed to me. Well, this isn't how I process, I want more information. So I started looking into measles again and the MMR vaccine. I found the information I already researched and I learned some new things. ( I love how there's always more and I'm constantly learning more.)

The first thing I looked at was the number of 15 cases. I understand that measles is a highly contagious illness that can spread quickly. But so can a lot of Illnesses, that we don't have vaccines for. I rarely see any of those post popping up on facebook. I wondered how many people live in Michigan anyway?
9,991,177 live in Michigan. That's 0.0001501324%. Seriously, we are worried because 15 people having the measles out of 9 million people?

Okay regardless of how small the number of cases is, I'm still going to look into it. I mean what if it's like Ebola, What if measles is deadly? I never had measles, I got the MMR as a child. My parents were pro-vaccine. So let's look into what this illness is and the symptoms again and the risks involved. Symptoms include a high fever first, that occur 7-14 days after the initial exposure to the virus.
Koplik spots (white clustered spots in the mouth.), malaise (feeling discomfort or sick.), loss of appetite, red eyes, runny nose, sensitivity to light, and sometimes a cough. Then the illness starts an erythematous (red) rash that covers much of the body. After such, the body should start to heal from this, as long as there aren't any other complications or other infections.
And it's said this virus is highly contagious and is spread by
respiration. If you are an immune compromised individual, you could have delayed recovery or prolonged/increased susceptibility to other infections. The death rate of this infection is less than 0.5% in developed countries. That's .05% if you catch the illness, and most of those people are immune compromised or have other issues.

Now that we know the virus, let's look at the vaccine.

The MMR (
measles, mumps, and rubella (German measles)) It comes as a 3 in one vaccine and there isn't a single dose made for just the measles. Since it's an all in one shot, I am going to make the reactions from each illness in one section instead of separating it.

The "Mild" Reactions. I say mild in quotes because they still can be serious, and these are the most common, according to the CD
C.

  • Pain and tenderness at the injection site.

  • Fever of 103,
  • Parotitis (Inflammation of the salivary glands reduces their ability to function properly and may lead to infections within the mouth),
  • rash,
  • pruritus (severe itching of the skin),
  • Purpura (blood spots or skin hemorrhages, refers to purple-colored spots that are most recognizable on the skin. The spots may also appear on organs or mucous membranes, including the membranes on the inside of the mouth. Purpura occurs when small blood vessels burst, causing blood to pool under the skin.)
I was going to post some pictures of these, but I will leave it up to you to look them up, they don't look like fun at all.

Serious Adverse Reactions

  • 1- 1,500 get seizures.
  • 3.5 to 10 per million doses has Anaphylaxis
  • 1 in 30,000 get Thrombocytopenia (condition in which you have a low blood platelet count. Platelets (thrombocytes) are colorless blood cells that help blood clot. Platelets stop bleeding by clumping and forming plugs in blood vessel injuries.)
  • Guillain-Barre Syndrome (a rare disorder that causes your immune system to attack your peripheral nervous system)
  • Crohn's Disease (an inflammatory bowel disease)
  • Autism ( yes I know what your thinking. Vaccines don't cause autism. But it is still listed as a concern and I personally know several parents who have seen their children turn autistic as a result of this vaccine. It's up to you to decide, as it's your right to decide what medical procedures/medications you want to do/take.
  • Arthralgia (Pain in joints)
  • Arthritis (painful inflammation and stiffness of the joints)
  • Arthropathy (disease of the joints)
  • Aseptic Meningitis (an illness characterized by serious inflammation of the linings of the brain)

Oh and the MMR is a live vaccine, so it can shed up to 6 weeks after the vaccine is given.

As of June 30, 2018, there have been more than 90,990 reports of measles vaccine reactions, hospitalizations, injuries and deaths following measles vaccinations made to the federal Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS), including 449 related deaths, 6,445 hospitalizations, and 1,706 related disabilities. Over 50% of those adverse events occurred in children three years old and under.
As of March 1, 2018, there had been 1,237 claims filed in the federal Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) for injuries and deaths following MMR vaccination, including 82 deaths and 1,155 serious injuries.

Natural ways to heal

I love Homeopathy and have used it on myself and family for over 20 years now. I do see a homeopathic doctor when needed, but most cases I can research and find what remedy I need. Homeopathy isn't like general medications. There are no side effects (if it's in its pure form, with nothing added to it) from taking homeopathy. The only thing you can do is "proof" a remedy. But that takes several bottles of homeopathy to even "proof" it, and when you have, you just stop taking it and it naturally comes out in your urine. Here's more on homeopathy Link.  Homeopathy does very well with viruses. But you have to follow your exact symptoms. https://www.homeopathycenter.org/measles or Link is to a page that explains what remedy works well with the measles virus the symptoms.

Vitamin A-

Vitamin C - helps build up your immune system. Vitamins C is water soluble. You can take higher doses of vitamin C when ill to help boost your immune system to fight off illness. Every person has their own max dosage and it varies person to person. When you start to have loose bowel movements, you have reached your max dosage and should lower the dose. Example. I can take up to 15000mg a day but my husband can only take 6000mg before he had loose bowels. My children also have their tolerances.

Here's a link for more natural ways to heal from Measles.

An Interesting link of Whistleblower Dr. Judy Mikovits explaining how vaccines cause cancer.

And here's the new thing I have learned. The Measles virus kills cancer. Link (The virus, not the vaccine, although they use the same virus they use to make vaccines.) I thought this was interesting. So it makes me wonder if you get the wild virus, does it help you in the future to avoid cancer? This is something I am going to have to do some further digging.
